| The Room of Requirement (location of the D.A.)
The Room of Requirement is located opposite an enormous tapestry depicting Barnabas the Barmy attempting to train trolls for the ballet, the Room of Requirement appears only when someone is in need of it. To make it appear, one must walk past its hidden entrance three times while concentrating on what is needed.

| The Dungeons
The dungeons are where potions lessons are held. The corridors and 'classrooms' are dark & damp.

| Kitchens
The Kitchen is directly under the Great Hall in an enormous, high-ceilinged room, occupied by hundreds of house-elves.

| Chamber of Secrets
The Chamber of Secrets has a hidden entrance in the girl's bathroom (where Moaning Myrtle was killed) which opens up a stone slide to the Chamber, which is far below the school which is slimey, dark and can only be reached by a Parselmouth.

| Entrance Hall
The Entrance Hall is reached by through a pair of huge double oak doors; it is lit by torches and is quite imposing, with a ceiling so high it is barely visible and a paved flagstone floor. A wide marble staircase opposite the front doors leads to the first floor. On either side of this staircase there are two doors. One leads to the Hufflepuff common room and the kitchens, while the other leads to the dungeons.

| Hospital Wing
The Hospital Wing contains many beds with white sheets, optional privacy screens and bedpans. It also contains the office of Poppy Pomfrey, the nurse.

| The Trophy Room
The Trophy Room is where awards, cups, plates, shields, statues, and medals are kept in a crystal glass display case. This room also contains a list of Head Boys and Head Girls. The trophy room is adjacent to an armour gallery.

| The Library
The Library contains tens of thousands of books on thousands of shelves. The Restricted Section at the very back is barred by a rope, and students need a signed note of permission from a teacher to peruse the Restricted Section, as it holds books about powerful Dark subject matter that is never taught at Hogwarts...

| The Prefect's Bathroom
The Prefect's Bathroom is hidden behind the fourth door to the left of the statue of Boris the Bewildered. Despite the name, this bathroom can also be used by Quidditch captains. The door opens when told the correct password. Inside, the room is made entirely of white marble and is softly lit by a candle-filled chandelier. The bathtub is rectangular and about the size and depth of a swimming pool, complete with a diving board and hundreds of taps each with a differently coloured jewel set into the handle.

| Hogwarts' Grounds |
| The Forbidden Forest
The Forbidden Forest is a large, dark forest to the east of Hogwarts Castle. It is usually referred to simply as "the Forest".

| Hogsmeade
Hogsmeade is the only all-wizarding village in Britain - it houses many houses (lol) and 2 pubs. Also there are many shops, and it also has the Shrieking Shack nearby.

| The Shrieking Shack & Whomping Willow
The Shrieking Shack is a "haunted" and derelict building; the entrance to it is gaurded by the Whomping Willow, a vicious tree which attacks anything which approaches it. However, there is a stump which you poke to freeze it so as to enter the passage into the Shack. The Shack, as many inhabitants of Hogsmeade believe, is possesed by evil spirits which shreiked - however, the building has been silent for years, not realising it had been the hide-out of Remus Lupin when he transformed. It is boarded up and no one enters it for fear of the spirits.

| The Quidditch Pitch
The Quidditch pitch is where Quidditch games are held, and where teams practice. There are three golden hoops, about 50 feet high, at each end used for scoring, and stands surrounding it, providing seating for spectators. There are also locker rooms for each house for changing in.

| Hagrid's Hut
A small wooden hut on the grounds, on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, Hagrid lives here with his boarhound, Fang. He has a pumpkin patch behind his hut, with a fence around it.

| The Lake
The Lake is located on the south side of the castle, which stands on a cliff overlooking the water. It is about half a mile in diameter and the Hogwarts plumbing network drains into it. A number of magical creatures inhabit the lake, including a giant squid, a colony of merpeople and a population of grindylows.
